Our first flight was from Brisbane to Singapore, leaving Brisbane just before midnight on 26 July 2023.

We caught an Uber to the airport. It was the first time we had used Urber and I was very impressed. It Was very easy to set up an account. Much, much easier than what it was to use Singapore loyalty account set up.

The only thing we couldn't do was schedule the uber to arrive a few hours in the future. It said that part of the service was not available in our area. But we were able to get a quote of how much cost and then see how long it would take for them to arrive at our place. We used that to request the uber just before we wanted it to arrive. I said 8 minutes from Browns plains and it arrived in 8 minutes and I could see its arrival progress on a digital map

The quote was less than 10 years earlier, when Marg would catch a taxi to the airport she traveled for work.

I don't know if you can now do what urber does with taxis but if it isn't then uber have much better service.

Because we were taking a guitar to give to Glen we had to book that in oversized luggage. The Singapore Airlines staff were very helpful. There were so few people there that I thought perhaps the flight was going to be practically empty. But by the time we got to the gate lounge people soon will appear from nowhere. The flight was full.

As I wanted to record the flight on my GPS I took the window seat but just like an earlier like I'd had in a Airbus aircraft when I went down to Melbourne the GPS signal se soon to be able to pick up even when the phone was not hard up against the window. Apparently other than having a aluminium outer shell some of these on their craft use composite materials that GPS signals go through.

Even though it was only an eight hour flight to Singapore none of us got much sleep. The flight took off on time and arrived on time.

Singapore airport we looked around for some comfortable lounges so we've got lay down and possibly get some sleep in the six or hours we had to wait for the next flight. We found some down the end of a corridor which are beyond the airline lounges.

I did lie down and got to sleep for a few minutes at a time. I don't think Kristi and Marg did.

I don't know why but we had to go through security again at a Singapore before getting on the next leg even though we were supposedly still on airside. Perhaps it was because we moved from one terminal to another.

The flight from Singapore to Frankfurt also was fully on time.

It took us some time to workout what we had to do to get out flight from Frankfurt to Prague. Because we had arrived in Europe we had to go through immigration. That was reasonably easy. But then we had to go through security again before boarding because apparently we had come away from airside. It was a long walk to the departing gate lounge people in the it was in the same terminal. These airports are just so big.

We were going to catch the train to Zlevy. But they were doing work on the line and providing a bus service as replacement.

It was a quick walk down to the station. Véonika bought the tickets for everyone because it is a lot easier than us trying to describe were we need to go and what to bi, to the ticket seller at the station, that most likely won't speak english.

The Zlevy castle is magnificent. As are all the preserved buildings here.

We walked around the Castle to a private Zoo that had lots of birds of pray. The had a extensive demonstration of each of these birds doin ther bird of prey thing. The most impressive to me was the Falcon that grabbed things mid flight from a person spinning a lasoo.

Went out for dinner at an Italian restaurant. Went to pay an they did not accept cards. Cash only. Lucky Gen , Veronika and Niki had enough to cover the bill.
