We run question and answer training session so that you can ask questions about technology. But if you dont know about some things you are unable to ask questions about it. You may be using your computer in ways that are not as efficient as it could be, simply because you are not aware that other ways exist or that you can do it at all.
This course assumes that you can use a computer, but can show you to how to use functions that can make it easier for you to use your computer.
Some of the things that can be covered are:

I have not done any live online training for a while as I have been on a caravan trip around Australia. However we have had a mishap any ran into a Kanagroo just out of Albany Western Australia and now have to wait here for a few week while the car gets fixed.
So I Looked up Broadband for Seniors (BFS) in Albany and will be doing a few training sessions for them and they have also kindly let me use their broadband to run a Live online training session.
Rather than have it of a specific topic I will make this one a free form question and answer session on any Technology, be it PC, Tablets, Phones or Digital Cameras
It will be this Thursday at 3 pm Queensland Time 4 pm Vic and NSW time and 1 pm Western Australia time.
This session will be online and will be recorded.
It would be best if you could connect about 15 minutes to half and hour before hand so to make sure your equipment is working correctly via this link:

Many people look at ways to make their computer run faster and often do not realise that the slowest part of a computer system is themselves, because they may not be aware of way of doing thing faster.
The last two times I ran this course we only got through the first 6 points, so I will be covering some more points in this session. Such that:
In this session you will learn:

The recording of the two training session that had the previous 6 points can be found here:
This will be a open session where you can ask any questions on anything to do do with technology and I will see if I can answer them for you.

Because of technical issues with the one participant we were unable to get very far into the Spreadsheet training. So it will have to be re-sheduled for another time. The recording is good to see haw hangouts work and how to start using a Google Spreadsheet.
Spreadsheets allow you to do what computers do best - Calculations. Literally millions of calculations per second. Even if it is just to add up a few numbers or to check if you have been charge correctly on a bill spreadsheets, if you know how to use them, are faster to use than a calculator:
In this Introduction session you will learn:
If I get enough participants then additional Google Docs Spreadsheet training will be scheduled.

If you have more than one computer and they can both access the internet at the same time then they are most likely networked. But other than accessing the Internet at the same time you can also see, copy, move, and run programs and files across the multiple computers even that have different operating systems and are different makes. eg PC's, Mac's Android.
In the session you will learn:

Unfortunate I had the microphone to close to my face and having a beard the sound of my beard rubbing on the boom microphone was also recorded. It can be a bit distracting.
Also we only completed the first 4 points of the session. I will be doing another session next Monday 20 June 2014 at 9:30 a.m. on some more of those items that allow you to speed up the way you use your computer. Watch for it.
Many people look at ways to make their computer run faster and often do not realise that the slowest part of a computer system is themselves, because they may not be aware of way of doing thing faster.

The reason Microsoft Windows is called windows and not window, is the because you can have multiple windows open and the one time
In this online training session you'll learn:

The purpose of this course was to show you how to install and operate Google Earth so that you can, virtually travel around the World in 80 second. Actually you can do so quicker than 80 seconds, but the phrase has a nice ring to it, following on from the old movie, Around the World in 80 Days.
In this on line courses I showed:
There will be time for answering questions as well

If you have taken videos with a digital video camera or even a still digital camera and some of it is good and some not so and you want to put it all together showing the good bits and removing the bad bits, like where you videoed the ground the sky or the inside of the camera bag, then you need to do some video editing. Fortunately this can be quite easy to do with your computer and software that is most likely already installed. There are also many other things you can do with video editing like changing the way you go from on scene to the other, incorporating photos, adding background music and adding introductory text and ending credits, just to name a few.
This online training will start with WIndows Live Movie maker as that comes bundled with most versions of windows
It will be a completely open format online training sessions. So I will run the session any way participants want.

I used to do live online training via Google's Hangout on air. But Google in ther wisdom removed that free facility.
I now prefer to use Zoom. See https://zoom.us/
But I can also use other meeting software like Cisco Webx Meeting, Facebook Messenger, Whats App Google Meet or TeamViewer
