My Weight

Now for the second time since I got married, in 1973, I'm now the same weight as I was when I got married.

Previous Time

The previous time, I did it, I did so by just eating less. Initially only eating half what I normally eat then after losing a bit of weight reducing that half by half again. I lost over 15 kilos that time but slowly put a few kilos back on.

What it did was make me feel a lot better. I stop snoring completely and also it reduced dramatically my sleep apnea. I also had a lot more energy.

I basically ate the same type of food I always have, but just ate less of it.

The biggest issue I had was nothing to do with the food or eating but convincing my direct an extended family that it was all right to be the weight I had got down to and that it was healthy to be doing what I was doing. Apparently people that are thin look unhealthy.

This Time

This time i got down to the weight I wanted to be, by not eating at all.

I have a inflammation in my Illium valve. I'm not sure if thats how spell it. Anyway its the valve between your small and large intestine. I only found out about it because l had a colonoscopy. I have no symptoms associated with it.

The doctors wanted me to take medication for the rest of my life. I said no. About a year later they asked me to do the same thing only with different medication, this time steroids. Again I said No. Then they said there's another alternative which is to not eat for 6 weeks and just consume shake supplements.

Dont know why they didn't tell me about that in the first place.

Anyway I've been taking them for 3 weeks without eating anything but just drinking water.

The idea is to give my digestive system a rest for 6 weeks

So while at it I thought rather than taking the recommended 6 a day I would only start with 3 a day until I got down to the weight I wanted to be and then went to the 6 a day. So I'm at that now.

So it's basically like I did the first time only this time I'm not eating anything but initially haved the protein shakes I need to consume to maintain a certain weight.

I haven't felt hungry at all. But then I have increased the amount of water I normally drink, by about 700 mils a day. Perhaps it's because I have nearly always got a full stomach, that I don't feel hungry.

Even though I don't feel hungry I'm often tempted to eat when I can smell food cooking or that somebody else is eating. That's a bit difficult when you go out to a restaurant.

You can look up the shake things on the internet but if you purchase them that way, it can work out a bit expensive. Over $4 or $3 each. The hospital arranged for me to get them and I paid $154 for a months supply, about 159 of them, including delivery. That works out less than $1 eack

It could be cos I'm having the exact amount of vitamins and minerals I need that I also have a lot more energy. I can test it out when I'm riding the bike. I'm also getting fitter, I don't puff out as easy, and return to my normal respiration rate quicker.

Well that's the story about my weight.
