Weight loss

According to the Word Health Organisation Ther is a word epidemic of obesity and virtually nothing is being done about it.

In my opinion the reason nothing is being done about it, is because, if something where done, it would be bad for the world economy. If less food was consumed and less people had obesity related health issues, the result would be lower economic activity. Bad health, when treated, is actually good for “an economy” because it requires more to be spent on health. I was told, a politician once stated, ther are no votes to be won in good health.

However some individuals may be unhappy that they over weight. Its possible the reason they became overweight was because they were unhappy in the first place. Perhaps some more on that later on.

I have never been obese but have been over weight This link explains what I did about it.

I see a lot espouse about different types of diets.

Diet

I believe you do not have to diet, per day, to lose weight. But first lets look at some definitions of “Diet”

Some internet Definations

the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.

a special course of food to which a person restricts themselves, either to lose weight or for medical reasons.

Note that these definations do NOT refer to the Quantity of food that is eaten.

Now let look at the definition of “food”

Food

Defination from the internet:

any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb in order to maintain life and growth.

Nutritious. Water has no nutrition, so it would appear that its not classified as a food.

Now let's look at the definition of “weight”

Weight

Definition from the internet:

“a body's relative mass or the quantity of matter contained by it, giving rise to a downward force; the heaviness of a person or thing.”

Weight can be measured. If you want to loose weight, logically you have to measure your weight at least 2 times. If the second time you weight is less than the first time you've lost weight.

If you want to lose more weight you obviously have to weigh yourself more times.

If you really want to no if whatever you do increase or decrease your weight, you need to weigh yourself after each such doing.

This could become impractical. Something as simple as what clothes you are wearing, or what you are carrying in your pockets, can dramatically change your weight.

I find to overcome these issues I always weigh myself when I'm completely naked. Usually first thing in the morning.

What I found interesting was that if I weighed myself before I went to sleep and then again as soon as I wake up, I had always lost weight. Apparently just breathing is expelling water vaper which causes the weight loss. Of course there are many other things that cause you to lose weight

Sometimes I weigh myself before I have a drink of water. The weight increase is directly proportional to the quantity of water that I drink. I have yet to do the same thing with food, but logically I cant see how it be any different.

I am not aware of any food, that you can consume, where your weight increase will be more than the weight of the food.

Why Diet

If your body is basically a container accepts food coming in and allows things to go out, therefor your weight is directly proportional to what you consume and what you excreat and exhale.

Why would eating specific types of food (dieting) make any significant difference to your ability to loose weight?

More contention is that it doesnt

If your have a container and you continue to put more into it than you take out if it, it will increase in weight. If you take more out of it than you put in, it will decrease in weight. Much the same happens with your body.

Generally you cannot change how much comes out of your body but you can definitely change how much goes into it.

It is eating less quantity of food that will allow you to lose weight rater than what you eat (dieting).

This most lucky sounds all very logical. But it isn't what is said and written in relation to weigh loss.

The bottom line here it is a quantity of what you eat not what you eat that will help you lose weight

Methodology

Why weight loss programs dont work

In my opinion most weight loss programs dont work in the longer term, for the same reason as I gave above. That it would be bad for the economy, if they did work. Typically weight loss programs require the payment of money. Both as part of the program and the food that's eaton. From a economic and business point-of-view it's better if more people attempt to lose weight and failed than all of them succeeding. The ones that fail or later regress, would have to pay again to lose weight subsequent times.

If weight loss organisations were true to ther mission you would only have to pay if you did lose weight and continue to stay at the lost weight.
