I have written about this before.

But it did not seem to get any momentum.
Ther used to be talk about peak hour traffic. Then it changed to peak hours. They used to be the morning and afternoon peak hours. I noticed now there is also a midday period hours. The only non peak seems to be in the middle of the night.
It appears to me that traffic light sequencing is initially set, maybe adjusted after it's first put in, and then left for many years.
My experience is it is very difficult to get traffic signaling changed and any changes that are made, have very little possitive effect.
I get the impression that even though there are more traffic lights appearing, the number of people that set the sequencing has remained the same. It seems the sequencing tends to be done based on quite out of date traffic volumes, and the inadequate and sometimes non-functioning, ground loops.
I previously suggested trialing the temporary replacement of traffic lights with roundabouts. Ther was deadly silence about that.
How about trialing a few traffic lights around Grand Plaza shopping Centre being replaced with roundabouts?
