Neither was it created by a person, per se. It was created by Artificial Intelligence.(AI)

If you zoom in on the photo youl see that most of the faces of the people are distorted.

I created the photo, well I initiated the creation of the photo, by typing the text, “Croud of people”, using this web site:

You have to sign up to use it and only allows you to create a limited number images. Then you have to pay.

I was amazed how quick it produced images. I would suggest it uses a database of existing images and then modifies or combines then in a similar way that artificial intelligence works in photo editing.

I would suggest, that like with all new technology, this is a double-edged sword.

Rather than having to take your own photos or use royalty free photos, you can just type the text you want, to get a photo that you can use, can publish, without infringing somebody's copyright. I assume.

Under present copyright laws the initial owner of a photo (copyright ownership can be sold) is the person that takes it or the employer of the person that takes it. But with those artificial intelligence generated photos, no one took it. So who owns it. Those that provide the software or website? That would be like saying that any document that you type belongs to the people that wrote the word processing software.

Like everything to do with new technology we won't know until someone decides to take this to court.

Then what about using such AI generated photos as false evidence in court. Usually the person that took the photo has to swear they took the photo. Other than that they would be lying in saying that, in the past photographic evidence was pretty strong such that its often, not questioned

This site, with better quality images, allows you to bye photos, of things and people, that don't exist. According to them,it gets beyond legal problems.

This web site shows AI generated person photo with a real photo beside it and asks you to choose which is the real one. I can't tell the difference.

Taking it to the next step ther is fake video called Deep Fake.

Like this video of Tom Cruise. Not entirely created by AI, but uses AI to do what would otherwise take hours to do in normal video editing.
