If you truly don't care if you offend somebody by writing what you did and you are a true advocate for freedom of speech, are you offended by what I have written below?

You are pledging allegiance to an inanimate object. A piece of cloth with colouring on it.

A country is a human created concept, so can have it's name, boarders laws, (another human creative concept), what ever, changed at any time. It is not, per se, physical, just a concept that does not physically exist. By saying you love it, you are saying you love something that does not physically exist.

Why not say you love the world, the solar system, our galaxy, the entire universe and everything that is in it? Things that actually exist.

When I grew up in Australia I was forced to sing the anthem of another country, and pledge allegiance to someone on the other side of the world. Now that I am more wise I I realise the that allegiance was brain washing me into obedience for the purpose of controlling me as part of the population. If allegiance, another human created concert, didn't exist, it will be impossible to have large-scale wars.

I feel that they, whoever “they” are, are not singing an anthem anymore because other ways have been found to brainwash the populace. Nothing to do with offending someone.

You say this is my country. Country being a concept of something that does not physically exist. What makes it, as you are implying, exclusively yours? Do you exclusively own the concept or does the concept own you?

If my concept of country differs from yours why should I leave it? Perhaps you should leave it.

As I prefer to consider my self a part of everything in the universe rather than a Aussie I would not repost your opinion because I disagree with it, not because I don't wish to offend someone.

But for other reasons I prefer not to offend, I again ask if my comments have offered you?
