DESIGNED FOR : For those who want to understand in detail the basics of computers, their filing system (Windows Explorer) and to manage and organise their files and folders (data storage within their filing system)
MINIMUM CRITERIA for this course. More experienced beginners who have basic skills or knowledge of using a computer able to use a mouse (to navigate around a screen) and able to use a computer keyboard to understand the elements of a desktop screen and know where all programs are located and know how to open a program (not just from a shortcut) able to use the common tools used by all Windows programs (cut, copy, paste, drag, minimise, restore down, maximise.
OUTCOMES : It is intended that at the end of the course participants will : Be able to switch between programs, manipulate, move and resize windows and other Task Bar options Have a deeper understanding of other elements of the Desktop Screen, Menus within programs, Controls and prompts Open programs from various sources, create data files and save to their filing system (Windows Explorer) Be able to create, move, delete folders and sub-folders, move, delete and copy files Sort files in folders, add column headings Understand the potential for Viruses and intervention of their computers by others
