Economic, or I should say societal problems are NOT a lack of productivity. We produce more than enough Goods and services. We don't need to produce more.

What we need is a system of equitable sharing of what we produce.

Its not the size of the pie but how it is shared

Our present Economic system is entrenching a growing level of inequality.

Gerard Rennick, or whoever please tell me how your points will fix the problem of inequality?

Economics of climate change

Paul Barton You mentioned our massive energy reserved of coal oil and gas. You failed to mention the world's massive energy demands.

Coal oil and gas are finite, they will run out. Compared to renewables, they are also infinitely more expensive, because they are zero cost at source. No one pays for the sun to shine or the wind to blow. But everyone that uses coal oil or gas has to pay to dig it up and process it.

But what is good for the economy is a scarce resource, like coal oil and gas that will become scarce as we run out of it. Only if ther is no alternatives. The alternatives are renewables. Which are not good for the economy.

So this is an economic argument?

Went for a test drive in the new model PHEV HS

Much better car.

However the trade in the dealer is willing to give me would mean a drop of A$20.000.from what we paid for it about 2 years ago. As we have only driven it about ,18,000 KMS that would work out at a cost of $1.11 per km. That makes the great fuel efficiently almost worthless..

I realize that the dealer will always start a avery low trade in price but are these figures common? 2022 PHEV

It seems not doing much driving and doing to many are both not economical. The former increases the cost per distance traveled and the later the resale value, which increased the cost per distance traveled
