If you contracted and paid someone to make certain decision on your behalf and whilst performing those tasks the person collected and obtained information to help in making those decisions but then would not allow you to have that information claiming that it was secret or confidential you would most likely end the contract.
Yet that is exactly the situation we have with our politicians,
