Johnson Rd Ultimate Solution

I was thinking about what would be the Ultimate solution to the traffic problems and all other problems to do with Johnson road.

Unlimited Money

The reason given for not upgrading Johnson road is usually that there is not enough money to do it.

For the purpose of this writings, I am going to assure that any amount of money can be spent on Johnson road. Which is completely unrealistic, but I want to put forward, other issues that would take place, regardless of lack of money.

What is the Ultimate solution

Cant please all the people all the time

I can think of ultimate solutions but I'm sure other people would have completely different ideas than me. I have my priorities that they may conflict with other people's priorities. I don't think we'll ever get any consensus as to what the ultimate solution is for all people. Over time, individuals may change ther priorities

Initial thoughts and follow on thoughts

If there is no lack of money, if you are going to build something why not plan for the future. So rather than building, 4 lanes why not make it 6, 8 or 10 lanes. Ther probably not be enough space for that number of lanes. Unless either property was acquired or glider Forest was utilised. In either case traffic and traffic noise will be closer to residential properties. Rather than widening Johnson road a completely new Road could be built, through the middle of glider Forest. However that would not go down well for those that want to preserve the forest.

Rather than building lanes beside one another, they could be put on top of one another. A road 10 stories high. That would not look to good. How about putting it all underground. That solves the appearance problem. Out of site out of mind. But then ther would have to be multiple entrance, exits from the underground part. And ventilation shafts. Where would these be put. Remember we are hypothesizing that there is no lack of money. So that is not a restriction.

Whilst we are at it

Considering no lack of money, whilst we are building a new road why not add these other things:

Underground induction cableing to power and recharge vehicles

Driverless cars for safety and convenience

Eliminate the need to own a car, so that you are automatically picked up and droped off whenever you wish, without any delays.

Everything you ever need is delivered to you, rather than you needing to go and get it.

Lots of other thinks associated with roads that I have not thought of.

Time to build

Whatever alternative, is decided on, it is still going to take time to build. That is a given. But because we have assumed ther is unlimited money for the project, we can spend more money and get it done quicker. Or can we. If ther are limited resources in terms of machinery and people, would that cause time delays. Perhaps, because of the unlimited money, the machinery and people could be enticed from other projects. That would assume those other projects don't have unlimited money. Let's assume that. Then you have the issue of conflics between those that have this “fictional” unlimited money and those that dont. Hmm, a bit like the present conflict, of those that have substantially more money than others.

Fit in to rest of the road system

Even with this completely fictitious utopian, ultimate road upgrade of Johnson road, it is STILL NOT going to solve the congession problem, because they will be bottlenecks at the either end of Johnson road.

The only one around that is that the entire road system would need to get the ultimate upgrades.

Not a lack of Money

I hope I have proven that the problem of all congestion is not a lack of money, rather, in my opinion, it is an inefficient use of resources.

Unlimited Money

If you believe that unlimited money is a fantasy, you may want to consider this:
