Kept Scammer online for 6 hours

The Video

This is a video I made of where I kept a scammer online for 6 hours. It was done over two sessions, one for one hour, and the other for five hours.

It was all done over WhatsApp texting, in relation to supposably, a work opportunity.

The video only goes for half an hour but shows how the scammer used a very sophisticated system to try and scam money out of people that are looking for work.

I would like to point out, that often these scammers have been scammed themself. They reply to online advertised jobs, have to pay to get a job interview, pay again to get trained only to find out that the job is scamming people. They are then told to remain in the job to recover the money they have already spent. Many do. To that extent I often feel sorry for those people because they are most likely at the bottom end of the socioeconomic scale and are told they will be getting the money out of rich people.

We are often warned about how to not get involved in scams. However the scams are becoming more sophisticated and convoluted, to such an extent that it may be difficult to know if something is legitimate or a scam in the future. That is one of the reasons I spent the 6 hours texting with this scammer, to find out how they get money out of people.

A few points about this scam.

The process as it was described was initially confusing even to me, with my IT knowledge. I would suggest that it confuses most people. But then when the remuneration rewards are described, after the work required explanation, most people would be more interested in the reward than the process. Even though you don't know what your doing, or perhaps even why, the process of just clicking is very easy.

The website presented appears to be deliberately made difficult to use, such that the scammer is presented as if they are a great help. The thing they do constantly is say I will help you. They also encourage you by showing how lucky you have been in the values that come up. To that extent it's a little bit like poker machine gambling. You given little wins as you go along to keep you coming back.

They supposedly train you, so that you can do the process yourself without them in the future. Giving more credibility, that it is legitimate work.

I would imagine those that fall for the scam would come back multiple times thinking they are doing more work.

The scammer allows you to use, supposedly their own money. Making you feel obligated to repay them.

If at any time, you indicate that the process may not be legitimate, they will direct you to a certificate indicating the company's validity as well as legal documents, that you are told, you have to sign. Of course these are all just fake.

If you still have further doubts they will tell you that you are being rude and non obedient.

There will also be, deliberate spelling and grammatical errors in both the website and the text communication. Deliberately done to weed out the sceptics.

The main reason I went through all this was to find out how these more sophisticated scams try and get money out of you, so I could pass this information on to others, so they have knowledge of them, so could avoid such things in the future.

After watching the video tell me if you can fully understand the way the, supposed, Preapps system works.
