Circumstances leading up to day of the Event

When Kristi was 21 years old because of circumstances involving a boyfriend, at the time, she became depressed.

For quite some time she decided not to take any medication for the depression. But after seeing a number of doctors psychologist and psychiatrist, She eventually started taking antidepressants. Her later comment was, so this is what it's like to feel normal.

A side effect of the antidepressants was severe constipation, so the doctors that were treating her, changed her medication, to a different antidepressant.

Kristi then developed severe fatigue. so much so that she was not able to continue with her PhD studies. Which she put on hold.

Because she could not get out of bed in the morning a doctor suggested she take dexamphetamine, on a as required basis, to help with the fatigue. After the doctor advised that there was a possibility of addiction associated with long-term usage of the dexamphetamine,Kristi decided to take it. she has been taking it, as per the initial doctors recommendations and a subsequent doctor, for about 2 years. During this time with prescriptions from each subsequent doctors (2) she was never told, by any of the doctors or the pharmacists, of the legal consequences of driving with dexamphetamine in her bloodstream. It would appear that the majority of the medical profession, are not aware of it.

Because of the likelihood of addiction,on a doctors recommendation, at a point in time, Kristi stop taking dexamphetamine for a number of weeks.

Over the last 18 months, Kristi did an extremely large amount of research to try and find out why she was suffering from fatigue. She had previously worked in research. She saw many doctors and had many medical tests. other than finding out she had gallstones, no physical explanation was given for the fatigue.

Because she was living in a unit were the downstairs tenant had left because of black mould, she felt the black mould or some environmental factor was causing her fatigue. Even though she moved out of the unit back to live with us her parents, she became obsessed that any small dark dot was black mould. She took literally thousands of photos of any small black dots, insisting they were black mould and sometimes would get quite upset if we did not acknowledge it was mould. At the same time she would take thousands of photos of different parts of her body, and then digitally enhance them, suggesting that there was something physically wrong inside her body. Again getting upset when others did not see what she saw in the photos. Especially doctors. She became completely disillusioned with the medical system.

Excessive cleaning and product use

For many of months prior to the Police incident Kristi would use an excessive amount of cleaning material supposably to eradicate black mould. At one want stage she had over 60 kilos of bicarbonate soda spread over carpet. she left it on the carpet for a number of months She ended up then buying 4 vacuum cleaners to vacuum up there bicarbonate soda. She then thought it was water that was causing her physical problems. She stopped drinking tap water, used a shower other than our own, and did not wash or clean her teeth for quite some time. She even thought it was some sort of a smell causing her problems, so started sleeping in a separate room other than her bedroom, and started spreading the bicarbonate soda in that room. she would always come up with some excuse to justify these actions

3 Days before the Event

Kristi implied to her mother that some people were listening in on her conversations on her phone, and her conversations in general and that there were inferred threats from a few different source, but didn't know which and was worried about our welfare and not sure if banks has been accessed. Anything she read she took an inference of a threat, words her friends used were taken as a warning. She has since acknowledged that it may or may not be happening.
