Icecream Car Starting

Appears to be fuel blockage or restricted related. But the root cause could be many things.

Reminds me of a story I heard about a person that has trouble starting their car after purchasing vanilla icecream, but would not happen when they bought flavoured icecream.

The mechanics could not find anything wrong with the car. So they went with the driver when icecream was purchased and confirmed that the car would not start after purchasing vanilla icecream but would after purchasing flavoured icecream

It was eventually discovered that the problem was a vapour lock in the fuel lines. That happens in cars of yesteryear when the fuel lines were positioned to close to the hot parts of the engine causing the petrol to vaporiser and not get to where it should.

In the situation, when vanilla icecream was purchased it was done so, relatively quickly, such that the heat of the engine did not have time to vaporiser the fuel so the car would start. But when flavoured icecream was purchased extra time was taken in making the decision as to which flavour to purchase, which meant the hot engine did vaporiser the fuel so the car would not start.

Goes to the saying that association is not necessary causation.
