OUTPATIENT APPOINTMENTS AT PUBLIC HOSPITALS

Wondering if anyone else has difficulties with outpatients appointments at public hospitals?

We have had:

Letters arrive for appointments times that have already passed

Appointments letters and texts that never arrived

To wait on the phone for over half an hour to confirm an appointment time.

Stand and wait in a queue for 20 minutes at a central reception

Multiple times had a nurse ask people in a waiting room ther name and the clinic they have the appointment for, even though all has been through the central reception

Waited and hour and a half beyond an appointment time only to be told I should have been booked in for a diagnostic test before the appointment

To make my own appointment time for diagnostic tests because, even though I was told they should have been made, they were not.

Been told by doctors and nurses that these things happen quite often

To spend quite some time going through SMS and email codes and identify checks to register for the yourHQ system (https://yourqh.health.qld.gov.au/webconnect/#/startYourJourney) only to find a few days later that the system has been transitioned. Which I assume means it no longer works.

I wish to find out if this is only bad luck on our part or others have the same of similar issues with dealing with the Queensland health outpatient services? Then I can approach some of our elected representatives to see what could be done to fix it.
