Economics is a Social science.
As opposed to pure science.
This means that economics is a human evented concept. Proof of this is that history shows that in the past economics did not exits. Prior to humans existing ther was no economics. Looking at nature, before animals existed, one plant does not trade with another plant to decide how they were going to split up their resources. Even looking at animals that are the closest to human beings, the chimpanzees, they don't trade resources or have a means of exchange called money. If you gave a chimpanzees money in exchange for a banana it would think your crazy.
Economics is just a story, a piece of fiction. To that extent, in reality, it does not exist.
Proof of this is asking somebody to show you and an economy. You cant see, hear, touch, smell or even sence an economy. But you can conceive one, so tell others about the economy, just like you can tell others about any piece of fiction.
People believe in economics and an economy for to reasons. Because they have been told to or faith. Children are taught rudimentary economics by ther parents and also in the schooling system. Often those doing the teaching don't understand the concept of economics, as previously described, themself.
If thought is given about what economics is, eventually they must get down to the point of accepting it purely on the basis of faith. If enough people have faith in a particular system then it can and does exist, conceptionally.
The word Faith is often associated with religion. To that extinct, economics is probably the biggest religion in the world because most people believe in it. Most likely more people believe in economics than there are, that believe in God. Ther are plenty of atheists around but not many economics, non believers. Ther is not even a word that describes non believers in economics.
I guess the reason people believe in economics more than religion is because they can see the results of economics in their day today life.
Those that convince influence others can say how economics works for ther own benefits
